Installation of a cigarette lighter on a Yamaha ybr 125 motorcycle. Photo instruction
Installing a cigarette lighter on a motorcycle is perhaps one of the most mandatory tunings for a long trip. After all, you need to charge Jeepies and phones somewhere. And if you eat to rest paid then looking for sockets is oh how inconvenient.
That's why I was puzzled by buying a cigarette lighter for my Skirt.

Choosing a cigarette lighter for a motorcycle, where to buy
There are several options:
1) Buy a specialized cigarette lighter, price 100 UAH and above.
2) Make a cigarette lighter yourself, buy VAZ + wires + fuse + make the mount yourself.
I chose the first option. I ordered a cigarette lighter by the way in the Shop Schmoto, there was a promotion and it cost only 106 UAH. What I liked about this cigarette lighter is the cable meter: 1.7 meters. Cigarette lighters that are sold in other stores and on Motka, mainly sell cigarette lighters with a short cable: half a meter. That is, if you put the cigarette lighter on the steering wheel – then you still need to buy a wire.
Oh yeah, one more thing. There are mortise cigarette lighters and which are attached to the steering wheel. Mortise is cheaper!
And one more division, there are cigarette lighters with a fuse and without.
Why do I need a fuse on the cigarette lighter?
– For short circuit protection! Otherwise, the battery may become bad. After all, you connect the cigarette lighter directly to the battery of the motorcycle.
In addition, the fuse also protects against overloads. I.e. a fuse is definitely needed.
Dachshund, in general, I put a cigarette lighter on the steering wheel, because it is convenient to charge the phone-navigator while driving. I have a bag on the tank, so you can go and look at the navigator screen. It is very convenient.
Install the cigarette lighter on the handlebars of the Yamaha ybr 125 motorcycle
Of course in another motorcycle it will be a little different (the battery may be located elsewhere.). I describe the installation process for Jubierca.
General points:
You will need a screwdriver, side cutters and pliers + flagella.
It will be desirable to unscrew the front air intake inserts with a grille. More precisely, only one will need to be unscrewed, but I did not succeed. The bolt didn't lend itself to anything. I ended up putting the cigarette lighter on and so on.
Let's get started
1) So, remove the side cover that hides the battery.
2) Screw the cigarette lighter onto the steering wheel. Photo:
3) Pull the cable to the battery. There are other wires to which you can screw the cigarette lighter wire with a flagellum. Photo:
4) Install the fuse, closer to the battery. I don't know about other models, but Saito has a patch that needs to be bent so that you insert a fuse and 2 wiring, between which the fuse will become. We put the fuse on + wire, i.e. red! bite this wire and put it in the grooves:
5) Clamp this plastic. Thus, the red wire goes through the fuse. Photo:
6) Next, screw the cigarette lighter terminals to the battery. Here's what it all looks like in an almost established form:
That's pretty much it. Check if everything works.
Attention!!!
This installation method has one drawback. Some kind person will be able to use your cigarette lighter without asking and even plant a battery :-(. Alternatively, you can connect the cigarette lighter not to the battery, but to the wires of the ignition lock. That the cigarette lighter would work only when the motorcycle is started with a key.
But I decided not to bother, because it is unlikely that anyone will climb to your motorcycle to land akum. There's already a lot of bad things you can do if you want to.
